Previously, I made four quilt tops. Two throws and two full-sized. I worked through the throws and one of the larger quilts. Turns out, I really enjoy binding!

I struggled while working on the second full-sized one, which is why there are no completed photos of it yet. I did not like how things were progressing, mainly towards the end when I started stitching the quilt sandwich together.
I thought for days about the stitch design for the quilt. I wanted to stitch zig zags but did not feel confident enough to try. So I continued working on my straight-line quilting, which has not seemed to be getting any better compared to when I started this whole sewing adventure. I started and did not like it (it just didn’t feel right). I took about two lines of stitching out. I tried to re-stitch again; still not feeling happy about it or that it felt like the right thing to do with this project. I tried pushing through the project to just get it done and over with, but I became more and more frustrated as each line was being added. Finally, I decided to take out the stitches again even though I had about 25% of the project stitched up.
I decided to go even further and take the quilt sandwich apart, wash the front and back, and put everything away. I will give myself time away from the project and try tackling it again when I feel more relaxed and able to put the time in to make the zig zags as I originally liked for this project.
Trust your gut feelings when things do not feel right when you are working on a project, especially when you try starting over and it still doesn’t feel right. At this point in time, I feel good about backtracking and walking away for a bit. I plan on cross-stitching in the meantime to give myself a break from my sewing machine.
